We are delighted to announce that we will be launching a Mentor scheme for pupils in the WGHS Sixth Form and we need your help! Can you spare time to mentor a student who is interested in your field of work?

The scheme will connect Sixth Form pupils with members of our alumni community to help them discover more about the realities of working in the fields they are interested in, helping them to prepare for the world beyond school.

As students go on to study a wide range of subjects, we are looking for an equally broad range of mentors with expertise in a variety of fields. We aim to match our students' needs to our Mentor's experience - discussions can cover some of the following areas:

- Your career journey after school to today

- Current knowledge and experience of your area of work

- Advice and strategies for how to get ahead in the industry

- Contacts for potential work shadowing/experience

- General advice about CVs, letters of application etc.

This unique support from the WGHS alumni community makes a real difference to our pupils, impacting on key decisions about their future paths. The scheme instils in them the confidence to take on the world, knowing the WGHS community is always there to help and support them.
