I was delighted to join Wakefield Grammar School Foundation as Development Director in April, following the departure of Cath Worsley last year. It has been a whirlwind few months whilst I have settled into the new role, getting to grips with all the excitement of school life.
Although I am not an Old Girl, I was born and raised in Wakefield and previously worked at the University of Leeds, working closely with the alumni community there to raise funds to help students from disadvantaged backgrounds to attend higher education. As the first person in my family to go to University, I am passionate about how education is a vital factor in social mobility and the role which independent schools can have in this.
As we look ahead to the 2024/25 year, we have some really exciting events and opportunities to engage with our alumni community and along with my new Development Officer, Lizzie White, I’m looking forward to meeting more of our amazing alumni.
The Development office at Wakefield Grammar School Foundation has had some great success, and I look forward to building upon this in coming months for the benefit of our pupils past, present and future.
