See the photos of the Old Girls' Summer Reunion
Wednesday, 21 June 2023
Around 60 Old Girls came together on Saturday 17 June for our Summer Reunion.  The attendees enjoyed a tour around their old haunts, including the Head’s office, before hearing about the memories of school from Old Girls Helen Massey née Fairclough (OG 1998) and Amanda McCurrach née Hetherington (OG 1999).  We learned of hiding places, secret meetings with the boys from QEGS and about the donkey in the basement (a painting!).

Ms Boyes, Head, spoke passionately of empowering our students to find their voices and grow in confidence to be changemakers.  She talked of her ambition to continue to grow opportunities and access to an education at Wakefield Girls’ and thanked our Old Girls for their gifts of time and expertise in support of our careers initiatives and for those who have supported us financially.

The incoming Head Girl, Clara, spoke about our rich heritage and values, where we embrace new ideas and harness the power of innovation.  Where students become confident, compassionate leaders of tomorrow.  Where lasting friendships are forged and dreams take flight.
